Things that Keep Me Sane: Podcast Edition

Everyone has the things in their life that they love, that they do, that they keep, that give them an escape or bring a moment of joy into their life. Sometimes I need a moment away from children and work to enjoy something made for adults. I started thinking about what those things are for me and thought I would share. If they help me, maybe someone else would be interested as well. So I began compiling this list and realized it would be just ridiculously long and no one has time for that. So welcome to my first post series! This edition covers podcasts. Look for upcoming ones on TV shows, books, and random other things that I will think of at a later date. (Links provided where possible)

PODCASTS!! I love podcasts. I listen to them when I'm washing the approximately 7,364 baby bottles we use per day, driving, walking, shopping, pretty much any moment I can. Here are some of my favorites:

My Favorite Murder - I love true crime podcasts and this one feels like how I talk with friends when I find someone who isn't creeped out by my interest in the morbid.

This Podcast Will Kill You - Shockingly, this isn't a true crime podcast. Instead it's two disease ecology phDs talking about diseases.

The History Chicks - Two women went looking for a podcast about women throughout history, found there wasn't one so decided to make it themselves.

The 45th - So this one isn't so much an escape but it is a interesting look in politics of the last week. The hosts are two women, one of whom is Muslim, both are attorneys and have unique and interesting perspectives on the topics of the week.

True Crime Obsessed - The hosts watch true crime documentaries and then hilariously discuss. Watching the documentary is not required for enjoyment of the podcast.

Criminal - I love this podcast and how it looks at true crime from a human perspective. Also, if someone could magically make me sound like Phoebe Judge that would be great, Okthanksbye.

Bear Brook - This is an absolutely fascinating podcast about how a crime was solved before they even figure out who the victims are.

Serial - I mean, come on.

The Ballad of Billy Balls - iO Tillett Wright looks into the death of Billy Balls. It becomes an absolutely fascinating look at family dynamics and life in general.

Undisclosed - Radia Chaudry, Susan Simpson, and Colin Miller look at cases of wrongful conviction, starting with the case that launched Serial, the death of Hae Min Lee and conviction of Adnan Syed.

There are so many more podcasts that I love. Message me if you need a recommendation or if you think there's one I would enjoy!

Things I've Learned Since Becoming A Mom

I have learned a lot of things since becoming a mom. Some of which I expected (how to change a diaper, when to burp a baby, everyone has an opinion), some of which I definitely did not expect. Here is
